Paediatric First Aid
Schools and nurseries in the UK are required to have staff members who hold a valid paediatric first aid certificate. This certificate ensures that the staff members are trained in basic first aid skills specific to infants and children, allowing them to respond appropriately to medical emergencies that may arise in the educational setting.
The specific requirements for paediatric first aid in schools and nurseries may vary slightly depending on the governing body or local authority. However, the general standards outlined by the Department for Education (DfE) state that at least one staff member with a valid paediatric first aid certificate should be on the premises at all times when children are present.
DfE recommends that the paediatric first aid training includes topics such as performing CPR on infants and children, dealing with choking incidents, treating common injuries and illnesses in children, understanding and responding to allergies and anaphylactic shock, and recognizing and managing medical conditions such as asthma and diabetes.
The Level 3 Paediatric First Aid e-learning course can form part of blended learning if at least 6 hours of the training is face to face.

Course Prerequisites

Learners are assessed at the end of the course by multiple-choice questions.
Certification
Learners will receive a Highfield e-learning completion certificate, which is downloadable upon successfully finishing the course.

The e-learning courses are available to use on multiple platforms such as tablets, PCs and laptops, except smartphones. All you need is a Laptop/Tablet or PC and an internet connection.
