About the Door Supervisor course
This Door Supervisor course is ideal for anyone wishing to get SIA Licence and work in the security industry as a door supervisor or security guard. The course is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications and is supported by Skills for Security, the standards setting body for the security industry and the SIA, which regulates the private security industry.

Who is this course for?
Obtaining the Level 2 Door Supervisor qualification is the first step towards getting an SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
With a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence, you are permitted to work in a wide variety of environments, such as:

Assessment and examination
To pass the SIA Door Supervisor course you will have to sit four multiple choice question e-assessments. You will be expected to answer 72 multiple choice questions with a duration of 1 hour 50 minutes and a pass mark of 51 questions. You will be expected to answer 50 multiple choice questions with a duration of 1 hour 15 minutes and a pass mark of 35 questions. You will be expected to answer 20 multiple choice questions with a duration of 30 minutes and a pass mark of 14 questions. You will be expected to answer 30 multiple choice questions with a duration of 45 minutes and a pass mark of 24 questions.For Unit 1: Principles of working in the private security industry

Examination resits
We have a policy of NO PASS – NO RETAKE FEE, so if you do not pass there is no charge for 2 re-takes. Our pass rate is over 95%.
Everything you need to know for the exams is covered in the course and our experienced trainers will fully prepare you for success in the tests.
Exam results will be made available on the same day.

Registration for the course is not guaranteed until a completed registration form and payment (deposit) has been received.
Placement in the course will be confirmed via E-mail by the T4E staff.
Deposit and payments. Our courses are non-refundable 24 hours after booking. You can receive a full refund if you inform us within 24 hours of booking of your intention to cancel, and you will be refunded the amount paid for the course. Courses cancelled after 24 hours of booking will not be eligible for a refund.

Door Supervisor Licence
You must apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) if your job involves guarding a licensed premises.A licensed premise is any premises that is open to the public which sells alcohol or provides regulated entertainment.You do not need a door supervisor licence if your job only involves the use of CCTV equipment.
To get your licence you:
- must be at least 18 years of age
- must pass an identity check
- must pass a criminal record check
- must obtain relevant emergency first aid or first aid and door supervisor qualifications
People who have a door supervisor licence can also carry out other activities, for example work as security guards and keyholders.
You can complete you SIA licence application online or through the post. You must supply the supporting relevant documentation and pay a fee. The licence application costs £184 and is non-refundable.
Granted licences last for 3 years. If you pay your own licence fee, you can claim tax relief – worth £49 for basic rate tax payers.
If you are an employer paying an employee’s licence fee, there will be no tax or National Insurance liability. If you need more than one licence for your activities, you may be eligible for a 50% discount for the second application fee.
Conditions
The SIA can attach to the licence any conditions they believe to be reasonable. You must renew your licence before it expires to continue working. You can apply to renew your licence up to 4 months before your current licence expires. The SIA may authorise a person to enter your place of business or place of work (where your licensed action is undertaken) to assess your compliance with any ongoing obligations.
