Assessment & Examination
While the course itself is delivered online, the final assessment is conducted face-to-face at one of our training centers.

The course is assessed through a multiple-choice questions (MCQ) exam consisting of 40 questions to be completed in 60 minutes. The exam is conducted under exam conditions and supervised by experienced invigilators to ensure fairness and security.

To pass, learners must score at least 32 out of 40(80%).

Examination Resits
If you do not pass on your first attempt, resits are available every Thursday at 11 am. A resit fee of £50 applies.
Certification
Upon successfully passing the olnine learniing and face-to-face examination, learners will be awarded a Highfield Level 1 Award in Health and Safety within a Construction Environment (RQF) , which is required to apply for the CSCS Green Labourer Card. This certification proves that you meet the necessary health and safety standards expected by employers and contractors.

In addition to the above, you will need to complete a CITB Health, Safety and Environment touch screen test (known as the CSCS Test). The test takes 45 mins, it is multiple choice. With the two certificates, you can then apply for your card.

The CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test is an important way for construction workers to show that they can be safe on the job. It’s also a way for them to know that their fellow workers are as safe on the site and not put them at risk of injury.

The Operatives test ensures workers have a minimum level of health, safety and environmental awareness before going on site. This test covers the five core knowledge areas.

The HS&E test is made up of 50 questions covering five core knowledge areas:

  • legal and management
  • health and welfare
  • general safety
  • high risk activities
  • environment

The pass mark for the Operatives test is 90%. To pass, you need to answer at least 45 out of 50 questions correctly.
