About the Course
The First Aid at Work (FAW) Training is aimed at those individuals who wish to become First Aiders in the workplace.
The course covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider, how to assess an incident, and recognise signs and symptoms of injury and illness. The qualification also covers first aid skills in CPR and the use of an AED and assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness such as chest injuries, spinal injuries and anaphylaxis.
Course Content
This First Aid at Work (FAW) course is accreditated by Highfields Qualifications and is aimed to support those individuals needing to become first-aider in the workplace.
Topics include:
- the roles and responsibilities of a first-aider
- assessing an emergency situation safely
- CPR and AED
- administering first aid to a choking casualty
- dealing with shock, burns, scalds, bleeds and minor injuries
- dealing with casualties with fractures, and spinal, head or chest injuries
- dealing with heart attacks, strokes and other major illnesses
Course pre requisites
All delegates must be 16 + years of age.
Assessment & Examination
This qualification is assessed through the assessment paperwork for each component, each graded pass/fail:
Practical observation – the practical assessment is completed throughout the course delivery. Learners must demonstrate practical first aid skills.
Multiple choice theory assessment – for a multiple-choice theory assessment, all candidates are required to answer a series of multiple-choice questions. You must achieve a pass on each element.
This course is held over 3 days (6 hours each days, excluding breaks).
Examination Resits
We have a policy of NO PASS – NO RETAKE FEE, so if you do not pass there is no charge for re-takes. Our pass rate is over 95%.
Exam results will be made available within 7 to 14 working days.
Refunds
Our aim is to make it as easy as possible to learn and relate subjects with Training 4 Employment Ltd.
- Bookings may be made by e-mail, via the T4E website, or by telephone.
- Registration for the course is not guaranteed until a completed registration form and payment (deposit) has been received. Placement in the course will be confirmed via E-mail by the T4E staff.
- Deposit and payments. Our courses are non-refundable 24 hours after booking. You can receive a full refund if you inform us within 24 hours of booking of your intention to cancel, and you will be refunded the amount paid for the course. Courses cancelled after 24 hours of booking will not be eligible for a refund.

Payment in Full: If your budget allows, you can make your payment in full and start your studies knowing the cost of your course is complete. The course fee £179 includes examination fees, full instruction, and exam resit.
Deposit Payment: To reserve and guarantee your place on the course you will need to pay a deposit fee of £80 and the remaining balance of £99.

Do I have to complete any distance learning (e-learning) before attending the training?
Yes, our 3 day First Aid at Work course include distance learning which you must complete before you attend the classroom training.
How long does the First Aid Certificate last?
When will I receive my certificate?
Please note, you don’t need a certificate to apply for your SIA Licence.
Is the first aid qualification needed to do the SIA Door Supervisor course?
Yes, from August 2021 it is an SIA requirement that training centres must confirm that each candidate is sufficiently qualified in First Aid or Emergency First Aid.
Therefore, all candidates will need to show that they hold a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
The First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date.
You will need to present your First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate to Training4Employment before you start SIA Door Supervisor training.
If you don’t have a valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate, we can offer you an Emergency First Aid Training Course.
